Epping Forest Inclusion Project

The Epping Forest Inclusion Project provides sports, leisure and physical activity opportunities for children and young people with SEND. During term time the project puts on a number of out of school sessions ranging from Trampolining to Horse Riding. During the schools holidays various sessions and activities are held, which where possible include siblings and parents. Activities on our holiday programme include Own a Pony, Relaxed Performances, Forest Fun days and Multi Sports Camps.

Our Inclusion Project has always aimed to increase the number of sports and leisure opportunities for children and young people in the district. We believe that the number of opportunities helps to:

  • Increase positive behaviour
  • Social interaction with peers and adults
  • Listening and following instructions

The inclusion project also helps participants to have:

  • A  healthy and active lifestyle
  • Improved stamina, strength (vital for a number of our participants) and flexibility.

Through the careful programming of activities and use of appropriate and sensitive delivery methods, disabled children and young people experience a wide range of health benefits and positive outcomes that will additionally impact on their families.
